Little Lark families have a high level of participation in the preschool and day-to-day operations. This structure allows us to maintain lower costs and create a unique community in which parents can participate in their children’s education and development while enjoying the group’s support and friendship. We provide an engaging environment to explore flexible and developmentally appropriate routines and loving guidance.
Classroom Volunteer
Families volunteer their time by serving as a teacher assistant in the classroom about once a month. Families sign-up for their shifts at the beginning of each semester. Little Lark requires a background check for all volunteers. All volunteers must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Teams
Families volunteer their talents by serving on one team per school year:
Leadership Team
Building Team
Fundraising Team
Hospitality Team
Schedule Team
Meetings
Families attend a monthly Parent Meeting. Two meetings a year will be designated as Cleaning Nights. The Leadership Team may cancel a monthly meeting if there is no need to get together.
Cleaning Nights
Families participate in two scheduled work nights per year to improve the Little Lark and Imago Dei spaces and keep them clean and beautiful. These nights include tasks like cleaning, organizing, painting, art projects, and room set-up.
Fundraising
Fundraising opportunities will be available throughout the year. The money raised will be used for classroom supplies or updates, overhead costs, and a scholarship fund. Families who don’t want to participate in fundraising can pay a $75 opt-out fee per semester.
